Bruce Broughton was born March 8, 1945, in Los Angeles. He studied composition at the University of Southern California (USC), earning himself a bachelor's degree. After college he worked as music supervisor at CBS television, selecting and tracking music for various TV shows. After ten years he left the post at CBS, to become a full time composer. Meanwhile Broughton is Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Sinfonia of London and a Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He has taught film composition in the Advanced Film Music Studies program at USC and is a lecturer at UCLA. Bruce is also active as a concert composer, having written several popular pieces, such as a piccolo concerto written for a convention of the National Flute Association and a piece titled *The Magic Horn*, which is often played at family concerts. With 18 nominations, he has received the Emmy award seven times.He is also a past president of the Society of Composers and Lyricists. An alumni of the Flora L. Thornton School of Music at the USC, further he is a lecturer in USC's Scoring for Motion Picture and Television. He has also guestconducted the Trojan Marching Band during halftime of a USC football game.
By creating the FROM TIME TO TIME score, he surpassed himself. Unfortunately we will probably never find it on an offical recording. ->
